metal show etiquette?

I have been to see a few metal bands over the years and have always been the type a dude to get right in the middle of the pit and go crazy.

I have always found people in the pit to be as cool as shit! if someone goes down? people pick em up and keep going, not breaking stride!

One cool memory was from the Lamb Of God show in Sydney in 08 (I think maybe 07), where I met this dude that had taken his nephew to his first ever metal show and I was like "dude, you gotta come in the pit!", this kid was 15 or something and a bit scared but to his credit he went into the pit and ran around for a bit, then I got him up crowd surfing. His uncle was so happy and the kid had a blast.

For me that is what a metal show is all about, catching up with friends, drinking beer and having a good time!!

Now, the reason for this post is because a good friend of mine is coming down the Melbourne for the Slipknot show and I said "hell yeah, lets meet up for that" and he said "floor or seats?"

I have only ever been to one show where there we sat on seats (with the same dude, in 92(??) for Body Count) and we were 13 or something.

How do you like to watch metal shows? in the middle or up the back watching? What is your best metal show experience?
