First of all the cover struck me as odd, for this type of music but hey no big deal, I chuck the CD in and away we go.
The first thing that struck me musically was the vocals, Alex Koehler has brutal yet unusual sound to his voice, something people will either love or hate. Me? I think it works at times.
The second thing I noticed was the production seemed to be drum biased. The guitars, I feel, are to quiet or trying to do to much and therefore get lost in the f^&king awesome drums, take "Cursed"for instance.
That being said there are some ripping songs on this album, "Everlasting Sleep" and "My Damnation" come to mind.
But unfortunately "My Damnation" fails to hit the mark for me, the album seem to short and the songs seem to blend with no real higlights or lowlights.
If you like your deathcore then check these guys out, there is plenty of energy in the music so I'm sure they would put on a great live show and they seem to have a large following.
